The use of bomb de-armers has been steady increasing, becoming more widely adopted by sappers and de-mining professionals around the world from the time of their invention to the present. They’ve been consistently recognized as a useful tool, able to get the job done safely and without deploying costly UGVs.
SAFETY FOR SAPPERS
The use of bomb disruptors, commonly referred to as “dearmers” or “de-armers” has been increasing primarily due to the substantially increased safety, which they provide. They’ve been widely accepted by the de-mining community as the safer deployable alternative, as compared to other methods, which is incomparably more economical and feasible than high-cost unmanned ground vehicles (UGV).
DEMINING
CombatTool de-armer devices can be effectively employed for efficiently neutralizing a variety of mines and mortars. In all cases, where directly targeting the fuse is possible, disabling an igniter attached to a mine prevents detonation. The fuse can be detached or severed to deactivate/demobilize its operability.
’Such a de-armer is a very useful tool to any sapper, as it greatly minimizes the risk when other options are not workable.
